A solution for safe ducting
In ventilation systems for venting chemically contaminated process air, a small but crucial component often plays an underestimated role: the check valve. It prevents air from flowing back when the fan is switched off - and can become a safety risk if it does not function reliably. With the new horizontal non-return damper, Beck has developed an innovative solution that rethinks previous concepts.
This model is specially designed for horizontal pipe routing - until now, only angular or rectangular models have been used here. The disadvantage: high noise levels and far too much space required. Our model therefore scores points as a round check valve for ventilation with an optimized shape.
What makes this round check valve different?
The special feature lies in the design. With its geometrically optimized, drop-shaped damper blade and 15° inclination, the check valve reacts to even the slightest air flow. The result: it opens and closes by its own weight and flow force - without any springs, pneumatics or electric motors.
This is a fundamental difference to conventional systems. While other check valves rely on technical drives, Beck relies on physics - an elegant, maintenance-free solution. And above all, in contrast to angular check valvea, the round check valve offers better flow behavior.
These advantages make the difference in practice
- Higher reliability: Springs and pneumatic systems corrode under continuous load. They are weak points that can fail. A check valve without these components is significantly more robust.
- Better response behavior: Without the inertia of drive mechanisms, the check valve reacts sensitively to weak flows - exactly what a good locking function needs.
- Maintenance-free: No auxiliary energy means no wearing parts, no scheduled maintenance, no surprise failures.
- Minimal pressure loss: The flow-optimized shape keeps the resistance low - important for efficient ventilation systems.
- Compact: The short installation length fits into almost any existing installation.
Materials for different requirements
Beck offers the check valve in seven high-quality plastics: PVC, PVC-UV, PPs, PPs-el, PP, PE and PVDF. This means that whether you have aggressive chemicals, UV radiation or electrostatic requirements - there is the right material for you.

The new round check valve: A clear task, perfectly fulfilled
The check valve is a specialist: It closes the line when the fan is off. That's it. It is not designed to adjust volume flows - there are butterfly valves for that. There is often confusion in ventilation technology between non-return dampers and check valves, but this is a different component with different requirements.
The focus of our new round horizontal check valve makes it possible to solve precisely this task perfectly. With molded components and constant wall thickness, Beck ensures the precise functionality you expect from this component.
Innovation in ventilation: Beck quality in detail
As an integrated component for piping systems, the flap fits seamlessly into the proven Beck product portfolio. The same precision, the same durability, the same reliability that trade businesses and industrial companies have relied on for years.
